My Baby J Turns Four! Part 2

The rest of the pics from Jonah’s birthday at home:                                                                                           Happy happy birthday my little son. Your existence may have caught us by surprise and you may be quite a handful at times, but we adore you and thank God for you. You bring silliness and laughter and big hugs to our family and so much joy to our hearts. God gave us a good…

My Baby J Turns Four! Part 1

I don’t know how this happened and am not entirely convinced of its veracity, but apparently my baby went from this:         Since this (thank my lucky stars) is not our party year, we celebrated family style with a lunch at Chuck E. Cheese. He can now even say, “Chuck E. Cheese” instead of the former “Chuckchee!” that used to be cheerfully called out every time we drove past. Sniff.                                                                          …

    Lauren Turns 6!

Originally, I was thinking to throw a Frozen-themed birthday party for Lauren at home. But, reality set in. I was tired. Plus, we had only recently made it through the other five of our birthdays in recent weeks. Also, our backyard reno was finally in full swing and things looked terrible out there. So Boss. Part 2.

Bright and early (how do they do that after going to sleep so late??) the next morning, all were up and at ’em.                                                                                                                           And that was how we launched our firstborn into the double-digits. Happy birthday, Mikey. You are a blessing and a gift to us. We love you.

    So Boss. Part 1.

Boss. That appears to be the term du jour for the ten year old set these days. Or, at least the ten year old boys I’ve hung out with recently. As in, “that Lego set is boss.” Or, “this game on the Kindle is so boss.” And if a thing was particularly awesome/special/worthy of note? Beast.   Those two words were thrown around quite liberally during Mikey’s birthday sleepover. Instead of making a big deal out of this milestone birthday, all he wanted was a small family celebration with ice cream cake on his actual birthday, and then a sleepover with three of his good buddies from church. Done and…
