    Staycation, Day 4

Our last full staycation day found us having a spa day for two. Something I never in a million years would have imagined Phil agreeing to much less enjoying. But, we each got a massage on our vacation to Puerto Vallarta a few years back and Phil surprised himself with how much he enjoyed it and said he could see how people could get hooked on them. I took that as a sign that a spa day for two was now totally in the realm of possible for us. In a word, it was aaaaaaahhhhhhhhh. Best way we could have spent our last full day together. That and one last…

    Staycation, Day 3

It wasn’t exactly the plan to gain a hundred pounds during our staycation, so we spent the morning of day 3 hiking along the PV cliffs. Staycation, Day 2

So day two of our staycation found us down in San Diego. Jumped into the Mustang after church and took off for a day trip. Just because we could. Spent the afternoon doing a little outlet shopping. Also just because we could. And for dinner…                                                               Not to worry though because I’ve got three whole days left of our staycation to relive!

    Staycation, Day 1

Just as soon as VBS was over on Friday, we loaded up the kids and all their stuff and whisked them off to Ventura where we met the grandparents for a switcheroo. They took our van full o’ kids back to their house while we drove my dad’s green truck back to our house. For a glorious five-day staycation. We figured instead of spending money on a hotel for only a couple of nights, we’d put it towards eating instead and stretch out our normal two to three day getaway into five days. Did I say it was glorious already? Because it was. Glorious. On the drive back home, we…

    13

Thanks to dear friends who offered to babysit for us (thanks Jami and James- we love you guys!!), Phil and I were able to go out and celebrate our thirteenth anniversary this past July.                                                     We finished off with a glassful of brownie bites in chocolate ice cream with a bing cherry on top. So. Much. Food. So fun, though.           That’s my story and I’m sticking to it. 😉 PS- Happy anniversary, Phil! I am so blessed to be walking…
