    Summers are for Sleepovers

    One of Mikey’s best friends is moving away. Our two families have been very good friends since the time the boys were three years old and in preschool together. We’ve walked through a lot together in the years since. I can hardly think about what it’ll be like once they’re really gone. It’s an unfamiliar feeling being the ones not moving away. I don’t like it. And I can say truthfully that I know God has good things planned in this move for them. I believe that He will work in and through them and I’m excited for their new adventure ahead.     Staycation, Day 3

    It wasn’t exactly the plan to gain a hundred pounds during our staycation, so we spent the morning of day 3 hiking along the PV cliffs. Though we probably would have needed to hike for several days to burn off all the calories ingested, it was a beautiful way to spend the morning. Thoroughly enjoyable hiking by ourselves. We kept commenting on how we thought the kids would do if they were with us. The older two probably would have hung in there, though we suspected a headache for Mikey.     Lauren Turns 6!

    Originally, I was thinking to throw a Frozen-themed birthday party for Lauren at home. But, reality set in. I was tired. Plus, we had only recently made it through the other five of our birthdays in recent weeks. Also, our backyard reno was finally in full swing and things looked terrible out there. Additionally, some work/painting was being done in the living room so hosting a party in the house was out, too. So I pitched the idea of having Lauren’s party at Color Me Mine.
