    So… you know how life can sometimes get so busy where you feel like you’re treading water but it’s getting harder and harder and you feel like you’re struggling to keep your head above water? Yeah, it’s felt like that for these past few months. All good things- school stuff, activities, schedules, appointments. Means the kids are growing up, thriving, and we are definitely not in the baby stage of life anymore.     Pumpkin Carving

    Pumpkin Spice Latte, anyone? No?   Argh.   And I thought it was late back when we carved pumpkins on actual Halloween day. In other news, did you even know that it’s next to impossible to buy a pumpkin anywhere on October 31st? Not Ralph’s, not Pavilions, not Trader Joe’s, not Bristol Farms, not Walmart, not Target. Huh, I didn’t either. Apparently there is a mass exodus of all pumpkins on October 30th. Now we know and knowledge, as they say, is power. Huh?   Anyway. We ended up at a makeshift “pumpkin patch” set up next to the mall where they were selling their last few picked-over, sad-yet-enormous pumpkins…

    Christmas

    Recapping Christmas. And trying not to be too discouraged that it’s now February and we’re just getting to Christmas. Long gone now are the past-season Christmas sales, the dried up tree, and even the ornaments and decor are all wrapped up and put away for another year (a miracle in itself, by the way). Yet here we are. One day I’ll get caught up. One. Day. Not this day though.

    The Tree

    Because life has that insistent way of continuing on and because we promised the kids, we came home from the funeral to a tree eagerly waiting to be decorated. Or maybe it wasn’t so much the tree that was eager to get the decorating underway but more the four little people bouncing around it.
