happy valentine’s day to the best hubby and daddy in the world! (aka phil). my poor phil is sick again (fourth time in 8 months!) so we’re staying in tonight but planning a steak and lobster dinner after mikey goes to bed.
at the mall over the weekend, phil picked up a box of godiva chocolates for me. with mikey and myself in tow. he looked around at all the different boxes, brought the display ones up to me and asked if i liked the selection, then we finally settled on one. i found it funny that it seemed like he was on this mission to get me exactly the chocolates i would enjoy so he was willing to forego the surprise element. but then, i would have enjoyed anything he picked out himself since he’s really good at knowing what i’d like- sometimes even better than me!
but i was the most touched by the fact that even though phil had a bad stuffed-up head cold, random swollen ankle, and a test to study for, he still took us out to walk around at the mall because he knew i’d been stuck at home all week (my car needs some repairs) and was itching to get out for a bit.
he’s so good to me!

i got some godiva chocolates, too! hans and i eat one everyday (i might have sneaked one in during the day on my own). i love chocolates! i hope phil feels better.
