california adventures, leg one.

alrighty, time to recap our trip.  we stayed with sam and jenny for the first five days of our vacation.  they were wonderful hosts and totally made us feel right at home.  mikey had a great time ‘playing’ with austin- sorry lees for how much drool our boy left behind on austin’s stuff!

on sunday (aka mother’s day and mikey’s birthday!), we got to attend an hbc outdoor church service.  here are the kiddos singing ‘my God is so big’.  it was sooo cute!

mikey’s not slept in the same room with us since he was itty bitty little.  so once he realized we were there with him, each morning, he’d wake up and scramble to the corner of the pnp to get a look at us.  too bad he kept doing this at 6 am! 

monday afternoon, phil stayed in with all the kids as jenny, minna, and i went on a makeup expedition at fashion square mall.  thankfully, it seemed like they had a great time, especially when they got to watch a video!

on tuesday, pam hayashida invited us over for brunch.  i was so glad jenny and minna were also there as i was so intimidated to meet her!  we’d become email buddies but never actually met in person.  i know, so random!  but i had a great time and totally ate myself silly.  i’m still kicking myself for not taking a picture of the wonderful food she made for us!

wednesday, i punked out on breakfast with christine (sorry, christine!) in order to get a digital perm at kim sun young.  G-San (hey, that’s how it was written on his business card!) did my hair.  how glad i was that jenny didn’t have her camera for once, cuz the roller heating contraption thingy was c*r*a*z*y!!!   i kept thinking that i was toast if there happened to be a fire or something in the building as there was no way i could leave my seat much less run out the door.  now, i keep feeling like the perm’s already falling out since my hair’s so stinkin’ fine.  but i’m told that this is the way it’s supposed to look.  heh, you should see the look phil gives me when i explain that to him.  i paid how much and my hair looks like what?!  hee hee.

but i digress.  leg two tomorrow.
