girls’ night out

the last thursday of every month, our small group gets together with another small group- girls at one house, guys at another.  usually, the girls take the 6 kiddos (soon to be 9 as three of the five ladies in our group are currently expecting!) so we’re always stuck inside trying to manage the chaos of toddlers and babies.  but tonight, the guys took all the kids so we had a free night.  definitely wanted to take advantage of this opportunity and go somewhere, anywhere.

so after tossing some ideas around, we ended up doing a scavenger hunt at Super Target!  big thanks to my hubs for thinking up the idea and putting the game together for us.    everyone had a great time doing such a random activity.  my friend lorie even mentioned how she didn’t think about her baby once while we were out running around!  come to think of it, i didn’t think about my baby at all, either!  heh.

leave it to phil to dream up wacky and creative ideas…  take your team’s blood pressure and average the results.  push a line of carts back to the entrance.  call guest services and ask where to find ‘hot wasabi peas’ (remember, we’re in MINNESOTA).  take a picture of the worst parking job in the lot- the picture cannot be of your own car.  when is the expected arrival of christina and wade anderson’s baby? (you had to print out their registry).  what is the 16th ingredient in johnson’s nourishing milk wash?  what is the first word on page 284 of ‘the purpose driven life’?

you get the idea.

the winning team (which wasn’t my team, unfortunately!) was treated to starbucks’ coffee which was conveniently located in the super target.

here’s my team pushing carts.  it’s waaaay harder than it looks!  i have new respect for the guys who do this as their job.  whew!

the winning team.  like the police car parked just behind them?  these were bootleg pics as it turns out target doesn’t allow pictures to be taken in their store.

it was also lorie’s 30th birthday so we had a coldstone’s ice cream cake to celebrate.  i bought some funky candles that sparked now and then.  while lorie tried to blow out the candles, some sparks flew on to her hubby’s shirt.  he’s busy looking down to see if he’s on fire.  heh.
