o christmas tree
we finally got a chance to get a christmas tree last saturday. this year, we decided to drive out to a tree farm and cut down our own tree. ok, ok, so this was my bright idea- just to get pics of phil doing manual labor for a xanga entry! our good friends, adam, lorie, and baby jenna were game enough to join us, too.
the tree farm tried to make it a memorable experience with a petting zoo, hayrides, santa, and free hot apple cider. mmm…
our new llama friend.
wandering around 100 acres of christmas trees
this is the one! hack ‘er down!
saw, saw, saw…
tiiiiiimmmmmber!
the long (not really) walk back…
complimentary tree shaking by two jovial guys who look like they hunt deer in their free time. (didja know official tree-shaking machines do the work of shaking all the loose needles and little buggers out?)
it ended up being a pretty fun afternoon!

that looks like so much fun! we got ours from a lot down the street. they actually had the kind you cut down too, but we got one that was pre-cut. 🙂 i never knew that you had to shake the tree, but it makes sense! 🙂

awww… so fun! we were going to do that too but it was a long drive and on our way there, we saw a tree lot down the street and gave in.
maybe next year?
