apparently, baby #2 is anxious to meet us! 
i was having some irregular contractions a couple of nights ago and didn’t really think too much of it.
this morning was the first of my weekly prenatal appointments. the nurse practitioner checked me and it turns out the baby’s head is very low (her exact words: “whoa! her head is right there !”) and i’m 2-3 cm dilated already. so it looks like the irregular contractions got something started! this is how far along i was when i went into labor with mikey. double . the n.p. suggested i go home and get my bag packed as she was pretty sure i’d go early with this one. and she said to start timing the contractions the next time they start up.
praying this little one stays put for at least another couple of weeks as phil’s mom won’t be flying in til the end of the month. otherwise it’ll mean that our ‘plan b’ of having friends watch mikey while we’re in the hospital just may become ‘plan a’!
phil’s on call at the hospital tonight so he won’t be home til tomorrow. hope his pager’s working!
the good news is that mikey is officially, successfully, fully transitioned to his toddler bed. before i lay him down, he points to the end of the bed and says, “no, no.” then i say, “that’s right mikey, no getting out of bed til mommy comes.” and he stays put! yay!
so until baby girl moves in to it, the crib has become mikey’s latest toy:

i bet hans will definately be impressed with mikey’s flexibility and leg strength when i show him his “tkd master” picture. hans already practices kate’s kicks. i love the picture with mikey surrounded by all those balls. i hope he doesn’t mind too much when his “crib o’ fun” becomes his sisters bed soon. mikey’s gonna be a big brother!!! another baby in the house!!!

hmmm….i guess that’s ironic. but, i do clean the house so that she can clean the house. just pick up stuff and organize stuff….the stuff that i know she doesn’t know where to put it. otherwise, she’ll just make her best guess. also, put away stuff i don’t want cleaning chemicals on….mostly baby stuff. and, i do feel like i need to clean clutter out of the way so that she can spend most of her time really cleaning….like the floors, windows, dusting, vaccuming the little spiders on the window sill, etc……the stuff that would take me forever to do. i’ll have to ask jenny about that chalk stuff. is it very toxic? hans usually sprays the outside of the house and i usually just put out bait traps and that does the trick. but, i’ll look into the chinese chalk. thanks.
