drumroll please…
we tsais are happy and humbled to announce…
phil matched!!!
all the medical students were notified this morning whether or not they matched for a residency. now the waiting continues until thursday when everyone finds out where they matched. but we are so RELIEVED and THANKFUL to know that the Lord has provided a position for phil in the field he wanted to train in. God is so good.
the REAL dr. phil (heh heh!):
what? you thought this would be a baby announcement? 
looks like our little one is playing games with us. i’ve had more contractions (some particularly ‘good’ ones last night, made a bit more intense since phil was away at the hospital helping in the birth of twins at 4 am) that apparently ARE doing something as i’m dilated to ‘a good 3 centimeters’ as of last thursday and the nurse was sure i’d be going in at any minute. but i’m still here!
thankfully, most of the preparations are done and two of my good friends are on 24-hour standby to come and stay with mikey. here’s mikey with mrs. jessica (one of my on-call lifesavers!) and her adorable shelty doggie.
mikey was both thrilled and scared to have sahara in the house. his favorite thing was to give her doggie cookies. but from afar.
and i’m soooo glad i didn’t go into labor this morning as we woke up to find that 10 inches of snow had dumped down on us. it was officially ‘white out’ conditions on the roads. meaning you couldn’t see the roads, road signs, stoplights, freeway lane markers, on/off ramps, nothing. ahhh, spring in minnesota. 
quite beautiful, but i’m sure ready for some green stuff around here!

WOW…okay i had to do some quick research about this whole “match” thingy. Man, Wikipedia said it is this whole big tradition, going into the monday before and the third thursday of march. and then it goes into the poor people who don’t match and have to “scramble” into a program the next day. man i feel their pain…it is probably like all stressful like being the last one picked for dodge ball. but yay for phil!!! nursing school was sooo much easier.

that is soooo great!!! i was thinking …”oh my, this girl stopped to xanga while she was in labor just to tell us..she is intense!” but i am expecting you to do that when the real time comes as long as you are able. 🙂
