venturing out
so i mustered up my nerve to go out with both kiddos this morning. just to the bank and target, but it took all morning to get everyone ready and to convince myself i could do this! 
thankfully, both mikey and allison did great! now i’m feeling like we could go out again. real soon. like next week. watch out world, here we come! ha ha.
anyway, this first week home with allie and mikey has been great. way better than i could have imagined, praise God. allie’s been a super sleeper (on her back, no less!) and is already sleeping 5 hours at night. she nurses great and has been super mellow overall. so my recovery has been really quick and easy, thanks to all the good sleep i’m getting with this one. seriously, everything’s been soooo much easier the second time around. except for maybe the post-partum cramping. ugh. the doctors/nurses did say that those get progressively worse with each baby you have. is that true? i don’t remember cramping at all after having mikey. ???
mikey’s been a trooper and seems to have taken all the new changes in stride. he asks for “baby?” every morning when i get him up and loves to sit with her and give her kisses. i have their schedules somewhat staggered (will post that later) so that i still get some good chunks of time alone with him. though both phil and i feel guilty for how much less time and attention mikey’s been getting from us lately, he’s not really complained or acted out because of it. i love my little guy so much!

like i said, mikey loooves it when i put allie in his lap. he even cries when i try to take her away! she seems pretty content to hang out with her big brother, too.

allie sleeps just like her daddy, with her arms flung up around her head. i often wake up to find phil’s elbow digging into my head. 
allie’s cord fell off on saturday, so here she is after her first bath.
in other news, i turned 29 today!

awwww, you give me hope that i can have another one too….someday. don’t worry about the ol’ 29 bit, i’ve had some practice with that one for a couple of months. you will have to post your schedule, that is what i’m curious about. how, how, HOW?!?! you are a great mom, those kiddos are lucky to have you. is your mom-in-law coming soon?
