mother’s day

yesterday, we had the honor of dedicating baby allison to the Lord at church.  what a special privilege it was for me to dedicate back to the Lord the sweet, precious gift He has given me on mother’s day!  the vows we took reminded me once again of the high and holy calling of motherhood – both an indescribable joy and an awesome responsibility.  very sobering to know that phil and i are called to live out the gospel and the beauty of Christ to our children daily.  and daily we (i) fail.  yet the Lord is faithful and good and able to do in and through me what i can not do on my own.  so who better to entrust my children to than the One who gave them to me and who loves them more than i ever could?  what blessed assurance!

that evening, phil made me a special dinner.  it was all sooo yum!  it was one of those meals where you never wanted to stop eating because it was so good.  we had kalbi-marinated steak, bacon-wrapped scallops, king crab, vegetable kabobs, corn on the cob, and garlic bread.  for dessert, we had flourless chocolate cake (with liquid chocolate inside!) and a fruit tart.  no, phil didn’t turn into a gourmet chef overnight, he had help from kowalski’s market, but it was so sweet of him nonetheless!

the Lord has been especially good to us tsais in this particularly busy season of our lives: match day, allie’s birth, my birthday, easter, phil’s birthday, phil’s graduation, mikey’s birthday (crazy how our birthdays are all so close together!), and now allie’s dedication/mother’s day.  too many blessings to count!
